Research Project

Research Project

Research Projects (12 credits) allow the students to work alone (guided by a senior scientist or PhD student) on a current scientific project over six weeks. The results are summarised and discussed in a report, presented and defended in a scientific seminar. Every student will have to finish two Research Projects. It is possible to perform one of these in a foreign laboratory. In most cases, one of the Research Projects is continued as Master Thesis, thus providing a good start into the final step of the study program.

Learning targets: The students are able to work (under guidance) on an ambitious research project. They understand recent scientific literature and can regard it for their own work. They can prepare, carry out and write down their work, and finally present and defend it in the public.

The contents concern various scientific questions related to ongoing scientific projects.
